Persistent Absenteeism

In 2015 the DfE announced that it intended to lower the threshold at which a pupil would be considered to be “persistently absent”.  As a result of this move, the threshold is now 10%.

Ofsted consider the number of pupils who are “persistently absent” when looking at a school’s performance on attendance and expect schools to have taken robust measures to minimise such occurrences.
