Wednesday 8th November saw an unforgettable, epic encounter for the Y7 football team in the second round of the County Cup competition. The game was end to end and a very exciting spectacle for the players to be a part of! Biggleswade Academy took the lead through Rhys Ranger before conceding an equaliser and going into half-time level. In the second half, Michael-John Freeman put Biggleswade in front with some great teamwork and attacking skills! However, Bedford Academy levelled to make it 2-2 before two quick-fire goals by Deric Sarpong and an extremely sublime goal from Michael-John Freeman once again put the Biggleswade Academy ahead. A cruel twist saw Bedford Academy score 2 quick goals in succession to take the game into extra-time, penalties and sudden death where the teams could not be separated. With all 9 players having to take a penalty it was a battle of the keepers which unfortunately led to a 6-5 defeat. An unfortunate ending to an amazing game - the whole team should be extremely proud of their efforts! Well done to all! Mr Obuch.
This week Year 2 have been learning all about measuring accurately and choosing the correct equipment with units to measure. They had the opportunity to measure each other's handspan, foot length and height so that their results could be shown in a table. "It was challenging because I didn't know about measuring accurately but now I do". (Lily R) "It was fun because we had to measure ourselves and check with other people". (Harry N)
